Our main excavator course is NPORS N202 – 360° Excavator Above and Below 10 Tonnes. This covers both tracked and wheeled excavators commonly used on construction, groundwork and civil engineering projects across East Anglia.

Delegates learn how to operate the machine safely, carry out essential checks, configure the excavator for different tasks and work confidently in realistic site conditions. The course combines classroom theory with extensive practical operating time to build genuine workplace competence.

Industry Knowledge and Operator Responsibilities

As part of the course, delegates develop a basic understanding of the construction industry, the dangers associated with working on site and their responsibilities as a plant operator.

Training also includes a working knowledge of the manufacturer's handbook for the particular excavator being used, helping operators understand the machine, follow operating instructions correctly and work in accordance with recognised safe working practices.

The course finishes with the correct end-of-shift and shutdown procedures, including safely positioning the machine, shutting it down correctly and leaving it in a suitable condition for its next use.
