Course Content
Delegates will learn to:
- Understand legal duties, operator responsibilities, and relevant legislation
- Identify the main components of a dump truck and explain their functions
- Conduct pre-use, operational, and post-use checks in line with manufacturer guidelines
- Understand vehicle safety systems, including load indicators and warning devices
- Safely manoeuvre the truck in forward, reverse, and confined areas
- Position the vehicle correctly for loading and tipping operations
- Work effectively with loading shovels, excavators, or other site plant
- Maintain machine stability during travel, tipping, and uneven terrain operations
- Recognise and respond to hazards, ground conditions, and weather factors
- Shut down and secure the dump truck safely after use

Course Duration
- Novice Operator: Typically, 3 to 5 days
- Experienced Operator / Refresher: 1 to 2 days

Assessment
Each delegate will complete:
- A theory assessment (verbal or written)
- A practical assessment demonstrating safe and competent operation
Upon successful completion, delegates will receive an NPORS Operator Card for N205 – Rear Tipping Dump Truck (ADT).
Entry Requirements
All candidates must be 18 years or older.
A good understanding of spoken and written English is required.
Delegates must be medically fit to operate large plant machinery safely.
This course can also be delivered by one of our instructors that speak Russian, Polish, or Lithuanian.
Certification
Successful participants will be awarded an NPORS Operator Card (N205 – Rear Tipping Dump Truck / ADT), valid for 5 years from the date of issue or 2 years if they require to have CSCS logo.
