Course Content

Delegates will learn to:

  • Understand operator responsibilities, legal requirements, and health & safety regulations
  • Identify and explain the main components and functions of an agricultural tractor
  • Conduct pre-start and operational checks in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
  • Safely mount and dismount the tractor
  • Start, manoeuvre, and operate the machine in various terrain and site conditions
  • Attach, operate, and remove PTOs (Power Take-Offs), linkages, and other attachments safely
  • Transport loads and tow trailers within safe working parameters
  • Recognise and avoid site hazards and potential risks
  • Shut down, secure, and park the tractor safely after use

MV and Sons Training Services Ltd operates and provides NPORS N601 – Agricultural Tractor Training Course throughout the UK, strong focus in London, Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk.

Course Duration

Novice Operator: Typically, 2 to 3 days

Experienced Operator / Refresher: 1 day

Duration may vary depending on prior experience and number of participants.

Assessment

Each candidate will complete:

A theory assessment (written or verbal)

A practical operating assessment demonstrating safe and competent use of the agricultural tractor

On successful completion, delegates will receive an NPORS Operator Card for N601 – Agricultural Tractor.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must be 18 years or older.

A good understanding of spoken and written English is required.

Participants must be medically fit to operate machinery safely.

This course can also be delivered by one of our instructors that speak Russian, Polish, or Lithuanian.

Certification

Delegates who successfully complete both theory and practical assessments will receive an NPORS Operator Card (N601 – Agricultural Tractor), valid for 5 years from the date of issue or 2 years if they require to have CSCS logo.
